THE ROLE
As a Food Grade Packaging Specialist, you will be responsible for prospecting for new aligned clients within FMCG.
- Be active in prospecting and presenting. Network, connect and engage with new clients.
- Build relationships with decision makers within a client’s business, including procurement, marketing teams etc.
- Sell the benefits of sustainable packaging solutions providing exceptional quality, service and innovative new solutions.
- Liaise with all internal stakeholders and manage the process of delivering to clients to exceed service and product expectations.
- Project manage new clients’ orders/jobs to ensure delivery on-spec, on-time. Be their key liaison for a period of time.
- Report, forecast and analyze activity.
- This role will involve some domestic travel around NZ and likely to Australia in the future (schedule can be self-managed.)

ABOUT YOU
Board, Flexo, Rigid Packaging or Labels experience and success in a sales role that has a new business focus. Ideally selling into the FMCG market would be desirable, however Industrial packaging NBD experience would also be considered.
- The drive and tenacity to be in a critical and strategic new business development role.
- Past success in winning new accounts.
- Ability and experience in RFP’s including experience in negotiation and closing.
- Technical knowledge, understanding, interest and focus on sustainability.
- A keen focus and technical understanding around NPD, branding and the affects of consumer product packaging on buyer behaviour.
- Experience managing your own sales cycle and remaining self-motivated with a high level of engagement and passion.
- System/IT competence. Able to read, analyze reports / forecasts and understanding of timeline and the sales cycle in packaging manufacturing.
- Energy, engagement, customer focus, innovative thinker.
- Respect for others and team-driven. You encompass the values of integrity, professionalism, communication and self-accountability.
- Flexible, adaptable and confident in the Packaging space. A problem-solving attitude and ability to look outside the square.
