About the Role
With sustainability top of mind, we are on the hunt for a Design Engineer who is passionate about building a ‘Greener Future,’ with electrical propulsion & control systems for Auckland’s two new fully electric ferries, and Superyachts around the world.
Typical Duties Would be:
- PLC Programming (ladder, function block, structured text)
- HMI Programming
- Modbus communications
- Create and maintain project supporting documentation in Excel & Word formats.
- Provide remote support to overseas yachts, upload and maintain software changes.
- Field work commissioning & fault-finding of systems
- Travel to luxurious overseas locations
- General assistance to the company directors and other engineers

About the Company
Our client is a Marine Electrical business specialising in the Superyacht industry. They produce their own Monitoring & Control Systems interfacing Power Generation, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, HVAC, and all manner of systems that make today's Super-yachts tick.
The team operates from New Zealand's largest Superyacht refit & repair centre. Their travel lift is the largest in the southern hemisphere! Their work is varied, challenging, and of highest quality.
Energetic and fun but serious about what they do they are keen to offer opportunities for further learning and upskilling. The type of person we are looking for will demonstrate initiative, drive, flexibility and enjoy working with a variety of other trades and engineers.
While we are keen on attracting someone with skills as close to the above, as possible, we would look at those who have industrial design experience and can see themselves cross-training into Marine
