Our client is a major player in the global food, machinery / packaging Industry. They boast more than $500 million in annual revenue and employ more than 5000 staff, across 17 locations, on six continents. Their food manufacturing equipment covers everything from food preparation and processing to sterile packaging, tray sealing, storage, and distribution.
With an offshore presence and distributer support in New Zealand, the time has come to have a full-time Country Manager to drive new business and grow market share in New Zealand.

It is a Senior Sales role and we are wanting to attract Capital Equipment Sales professionals, who already have experience within in the food and beverage processing industry. It will be important that you understand how this industry works and will be able to hit the ground running, utilising your developed industry relationships.
We are seeking someone who is keen on rising to the challenge of launching the NZ arm of this international business; and who will partner with the industry and drive business growth. There will also be opportunity, as the business grows, to lead and grow a team in New Zealand.
About the Role:
Your initial focus will be to investigate the market, visit potential clients and identify opportunities to sell in equipment across all food processing categories. You will be tasked with promoting the company and growing sales across targeted markets, as listed below:
- Fresh and frozen ready meals and convenience foods
- Raw protein including Beef, Pork, Lamb and Seafood
- Prepared salads, Vegetables, Herbs
- Pet Food processing
- Shelf-life extension through HPP on various products, Juice, Dips, ready meals
We are looking for those who are confident in acquiring new customers through prospecting activities and can build and manage a healthy pipeline consistent with sales targets.
You will also plan and implement key account strategies, to strengthen business relationships with current major and high potential customers, taking full responsibility, from sale through to installation.
You MUST have the following experience to be considered:
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience of Capital Equipment sales
- Experience in the food and beverage processing or food manufacturing packaging sector
- Proven results in the negotiation and closing of capital equipment sales
- Ability to determine customers current and future needs and provide asset management solutions
- Strong Technical knowledge of food and beverage, process equipment
- Strong sales pipeline management, often over a long sales cycle
- Strong blend of technical intelligence and sales ability
- Good understanding of the local food production market and juice beverage market
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Food Science, Chemical, related fields (desirable not essential)
- Able to travel nationally, along with travel to Australia Covid restrictions permitting.
