Our client designs, manufactures and supplies commercial flooring throughout New Zealand and Australia. They form part of one of the largest privately-owned companies in the world, with over 7000 staff, 39 manufacturing sites, as well as strategically located design studios and sales centers that service the global needs of their customers.
With a 40-year history in New Zealand, their customers are in the Architectural and Design industries, the corporate space, retail, hospitality, aged care and leisure environments.

On their behalf, we are looking for someone who will focus on building relationships with the market’s key influencers - Architects and Designers, to generate opportunities to quote on commercial projects.
The right person will be focused on developing a strong market presence, so that the company is “front of mind” when a project is in planning stage and will secure opportunities to tender for commercial projects at every opportunity.
About the Role
- MAIN FOCUS: Develop sales opportunities through existing relationships with key market influences – Designers and Architects.
- Develop relationships with key customers including, flooring contractors, retail resellers, and Corporate customers
- Leveraging relationships to secure opportunities to quote on projects at every opportunity
- Develop and implement ways through key networks to grow sales with the commercial fit-out market, aged care, hospitality, public space and education markets
- Bring personal design flair and ability to influence clients design ideas. Must be creatively tweaked.
- Attend networking events and ability to turn your networking into business opportunities
- Grow networks across other influences, e.g Commercial Leasing, Real Estate, Commercial Fit-out, Construction Company representatives
Who should apply?
- Engaging people who can build strong client relationships
- Those who have solid business development experience from within a design led industry ( Rather than construction/ building products )
- Must have a Commercial Interiors / Design related sales background. (Possibly Commercial Flooring, Fit-out, Textiles, Furniture or Furnishing space).
- Current / recent experience selling into Architects and Designers. This is important!
- But what is more important is that you are someone who thrives in networking and building relationships and can use those relationships to generate ongoing business opportunities.
