About Our Client:
New Zealand’s leading company in the Building Maintenance and Construction industry, specialists in exterior building care, industrial rigging for large scale heavy-duty projects, specialist cleaning, roofing and waterproofing, and specialized access solutions. Whether it is abseiling from a high-rise building, or cleaning the inside of a silo, or repairing a cracked pane on the 15th floor of a commercial building, they have the expertise to fulfil even the most unconventional job.
The Role:
They are seeking a high performing and experienced HR & Compliance Manager, to be directly responsible for six branch locations around NZ. This newly created position will provide practical advice covering recruitment processes, HR and Employment Relations, training in HR policies and procedures, compliance, documentation creation and management.
This role can be based in either Christchurch, Auckland or Wellington – location it’s up to you!
Whilst a lot of your communication and support will be directed via telephone and email, you will be required to travel across all six locations, as required, to provide continuous improvement principles to drive efficiencies, service quality, safety and develop the people and culture within the business.
Specifically:

Management of the group HR and Compliance policies, to ensure up to date legislative compliance.

Troubleshooting and resolving queries.

Obtaining, maintaining and renewal of compliance systems and documentation, including ISO9001/14001 and Immigration New Zealand Employer Accreditation.

Reviewing the current HR suite of systems, documents and files updating, creating and maintaining each as required.

Have a strong focus on people and culture within each business unit

Support Branch & Operations Managers with Recruitment, Inductions, Compliance and Performance Management.

Work alongside with CEO and National Operations Director to streamline and systemize all processes and procedures related to compliance and Human Resources.

An influential, energetic hands-on HR manager, with genuine operational leadership skills.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills

Have a background in Systems Management & Compliance

Focused on driving efficiencies to enhance performance, productivity and compliance

Hard working and committed, with and desire for success and a willingness to “go the extra mile” to achieve it.

A strong focus on People & Culture

An understanding or experience working within a Trades Environment is preferred, but not essential
-
A relevant Tertiary Qualification is preferred

At least 4+ years in a similar HR & Compliance Management position
